Backy Baquiran is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Unilab, Inc and sits on the Board of different companies within the United Health Group.

Known to lead by example, he never fails to connect with employees across all parts of the organization despite all his responsibilities—taking the time to ask how people are in and outside of work—showing that compassion for others is non-negotiable. For his employees, His great ability to connect and listen serves as a beacon of inspiration for the entire organization, and reinforces Unilab’s core values by seeing them in action: husay at malasakit, and bayanihan.

His contributions and remarkable results since his entry in 1998 has demonstrated his unwavering passion for excellence: his work has revolutionized the organization’s sales and distribution capabilities, ensured Unilab’s banner brands stayed strong to provide Filipinos with world-class, market-leading healthcare solutions, resulted in establishing a long-term roadmap to sustained presence and growth in Southeast Asia, and more.

Backy graduated from the University of the Philippines-Diliman in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Cum Laude, and completed his post-graduate studies in INSEAD France.

Jeffrey Go is the General Manager of Glaxo Smith Kline (GSK) Consumer Healthcare of the Philippines and Indonesia, and a Board Trustee of the Museo Pambata Foundation, Inc. He was the first home-grown talent to hold the position of President and Managing Director of One Johnson & Johnson Philippines from March 2014 to May 2019.

A purpose-driven and process-oriented leader, he has strong ethical values and is dedicated to building high potential talents, and a highly engaged, high-performance team. With his proven track record in turning around businesses, driving innovation, and working through multicultural, matrixed organizations, he was awarded the Global Filipino Executive of the Year in 2018 and named a UP CBA Distinguished Alumnus in 2013.

Jeff is also a talent developer and has been instrumental in building young leaders, most of which, have assumed important positions across countries in Asia Pacific and the US.

Outside of professional engagements, Jeffrey supports his alma mater (Xavier School), Missionary Families of Christ (MFC), and Sta. Rosa de Lima Church, and loves to spend time with family.

Joy Isla spent a total of 41 years in Unilever, retiring as General Customer Development Manager and thereafter performing the role of a Business Consultant. She had extensive experience in various disciplines of Market Research, Brand Management, Promotions and in Customer Development and Management, with specific focus on major retail customers. Her longest stint was in Sales, taking a major role in transforming the team from traditional selling to the modern approach of customer management. She was responsible for training and leading the sales team towards new and better ways of handling customers.

More than her passion for excellence in achieving sales and profits, her focus was always developing individuals and teams. It remains important to her that each team member develops strength of character and upholds the highest values, which can lead them to the development of self and relationships with others.

She is extremely proud to see many rise in their careers and continue on their own mentorship of others. Presently, Joy and her husband, Danny, are based in Auckland New Zealand with their children and 9 grandchildren.

Michael Tan is the President & Chief Operating Officer of LT Group, Inc. (LTG), one of the Philippines’ largest business conglomerates. It encapsulates some of the country’s most well-loved brands in alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (under Asia Brewery, Inc. and Tanduay Distillers, Inc.), banking (through the Philippine National Bank), tobacco (through PMFTC Inc.), property development (through Eton Properties Philippines, Inc.) and sugar refining (through Victorias Milling Corporation).

He led the Initial Public Offering (IPO) of LTG in 2013, the country’s largest at that time. Concurrently, He is President and COO of Asia Brewery, Inc., a leading producer of packaging and non-alcoholic beverages including energy, water, dairy soy products and beer. He is also Vice President of the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce & Industry, Inc. (FFCCCI) and is a member of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN BAC) representing the Philippines.

In addition to his professional background, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Science in Civil Engineering, major in Structural Engineering, from the University of British Columbia in Canada.
